睡眠異常是2型糖尿病的另一個風險因素。睡眠不佳與代謝問題和飢餓感增加有關。睡眠時間過短(每晚不到5小時)和時間過長(每晚超過9小時)與糖尿病風險增加有關。1 睡眠呼吸暫停是呼吸障礙導致間歇性睡眠的一種睡眠障礙,在肥胖成人中很常見,可能進一步增加罹患2型糖尿病的風險。2-3 上夜班會打亂睡眠節律,這也與2型糖尿病的風險增加有關。4
